About
PlanetHacks is an independent blog exploring health, psychology, lifestyle and personal development through a mixture of research, critical thinking and lived experience.

Some articles examine established ideas, while others question popular claims, connect research across disciplines or explore less conventional approaches. Each one digs beneath the surface of a topic, examines the available research and breaks down the mechanisms, evidence and practical implications behind it.
The aim is simply to make complex ideas interesting, understandable and genuinely useful in everyday life.

Creator & Writer
Hi, I’m Sharon, the creator and writer behind PlanetHacks.
I have a BSc in Biology, an MSc in Psychology and a PGCE in Science, and previously worked as a biology teacher and university tutor in psychology, statistics and academic writing.
My interests span self-improvement and lifestyle hacks, functional foods and metabolic health, cognitive and behavioural sciences, social and personality psychology, metaphysics and philosophy of mind, functional movement and mobility, and our evolving relationship with AI.
I built PlanetHacks as a home for the subjects I naturally find myself researching, disappearing down rabbit holes for, and translating the most useful things I find into clear, everyday language.
I research, write and edit everything published here, sharing what I genuinely believe is useful, interesting or worth knowing.
